Back in 1975, Harris Kern of San Mateo drove a true street freak. His 1969 Chevy Chevelle SS was impossible to ignore.
The car was originally painted by a man named Mike Farley. It was his first attempt at both candy and flames, so he tirelessly reworked it again and again until he achieved perfection. However, this show car wasn’t just for show. Beyond the incredible paint work, this beast owned the 1/4 mile in around 12 seconds! Harris regularly showed this car at several events, but once it was featured in Hot Rod Magazine, it became known coast-to-coast. Auto World has replicated this 1969 Chevy Chevelle SS 396 in rich metallic red with flames, black vinyl top, and black interior just as it appeared in Hot Rod Magazine over 40 years ago!
