Auto World has created a striking replica of a sleeper 1966 Biscayne painted factory Aztec Bronze with a replicated Fawn cloth and vinyl bench interior. Under the hood is a powerful L72 427 mated to a Muncie 4 speed. The L72 was Chevrolet’s top performance engine for 1966, rated at 425 horsepower! It weighed 120 lbs less than an Impala Sport coupe while being more structurally rigid with a middle B pillar, plus it was the cheapest option for a full-size Chevy coupe at the time. As a street machine, only the 427 crossed flag emblem on the leading edge of the front fenders gave indication as to the potential power beneath the hood.
